1. Getting Started

Welcome to The Exam Factory. Our platform is designed to streamline the entire exam management process for IB and Cambridge IGCSE schools.

Prerequisites

A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
Your school's master exam schedule (CSV or spreadsheet format recommended for reference).
Student data and subject entries (from your MIS like iSAMS).

Initial Setup Wizard

When you first log in, our Setup Wizard will guide you through:

Profile Configuration: Setting up your school's details and active exam session.
Subject Mapping: Defining the subjects and levels (e.g., Biology HL, IGCSE Math).
Room Setup: Adding exam rooms and defining their seating capacities and layouts.

Note: You can skip the wizard if you prefer to configure these settings manually in the data center.

2. Core Features

Timetable Generator

Upload your student entries and clashes are automatically detected. You can drag and drop exams on the session timeline to resolve conflicts instantly.

Seating Plans

Our visual editor allows you to create seating plans for any room. Drag students to seats, swap them, or auto-fill based on candidate number. The system supports multiple layout types (Rows, Grid, Snake).

Printing Centre

Generate high-quality PDF packs for your exam days:

Daily Packs: Contains room schedules, registers, and seating plans for a specific date.
Candidate Timetables: Individual schedules for every student.
Staff Schedules: Assignment sheets for invigilators.

3. Analysis & Reports

The Analysis tab provides real-time health checks on your data. It spots issues like:

Students without assigned seats.
Exams with missing subject mappings.
Room capacity overflows.
